Mental health is such a taboo topic, especially in the modern world. However, it is one of the most important factors to consider in everything from personal life to business. Due to the immense pressure to reach a goal, most people develop mental health issues, especially the founders. Especially since the pandemic, most people feel their mental health deteriorates at home due to stress and loneliness. ​

What Is Mental Health?
The mental health of an individual is the psychological and mental well-being of the concerned individual. It can also be used to categorize the collective condition regarding the psychological and emotional well-being of society.
Having a positive mental health condition is one of the best things you can hope for, as better mental health can lead to better work and better social life, meaning a more well-rounded life. Taking care of mental health should be an active investment as poor mental health has its consequences. Poor mental health conditions often lead to a drop in creativity and productivity, and life quality itself.


Symptoms Of Negative Mental Health
Various symptoms which surfaced must be monitored. 
Often time, these people suffer from some of the highlighted symptoms below
  • Trouble concentrating
  • Irregular and disturbed sleeping pattern
  • Anxiety and mood swings
  • Carelessness around details
  • Forgetfulness
  • Inability to organize task
  • Physical pain 
  • Difficulty with breathing
  • Easily distracted
One can imagine how hard it would be to live with these symptoms.


Effect Of Negative Mental Health 
Most people are not aware of their social well-being. But when you are sick, you try to heal and get better. Why would you ignore your emotions instead of taking care of them? It is okay to experience emotions, but if you are feeling awful, find out the root problem. 
Some mental health issues have been linked to the pressure developed through lives' ups and downs. Some of the known effects of these negative mental health condition include
  • Depression
Most people who cannot meet life expectations often go into a serious depression of some sort. This is due to the pressure that has accumulated and the undermining result. Some solutions include having high standards in life but low expectations. 
  • Anxiety And Mood Disorder
Life bears a lot of uncertainty. We often don't know what tomorrow holds. These unknowns can cause a lot of anxiety for some. Remember to always take deep breaths and have faith. Know that everything is going to be okay. 
  • Reduced Productivity
Mental health-related issues are well known for causing a reduction in the usual productivity. The mental health conditions usually lead to a string of wrong decisions, which reduces the productivity of the person in question
  • Treatment And Prevention
The negative effect of mental health condition is usually telling in the lifecycle of a startup. It reduces its ability to perform to its optimal capacity. The cost of keeping a good mentally healthy startup is less than the negative effect it produces.
Starting up a business can be hard but it is important to pay careful attention to the mental health condition of its employees. A healthy working environment and a wellness program should be in place for companies for productivity. 


Some Ways to Cope with Mental Health
It is important to check in on yourself. 
Remember to always take a pause in life, take a deep breath, and check in on how you are doing. Stop checking the news, including social media, as it could be a toxic part of life. 
There are some tips on how to better your mental health: 
  • Take deep breaths, stretch, and meditate
  • Eat balanced meals
  • Move and exercise
  • Go on a walk in nature
  • Get 8 hours of sleep
  • Avoid alcohol, caffeine, and substance abuse 
  • Take the time to relax: enjoy a bubble bath, reading a fiction book, etc. 
Make sure to check in on your mental health every day. Mental health is as important as physical health. The mind is everything!
